CAMPUS-1 | The ground floor and first floor of the campus would be open to engage the public with the providence of childcare centre, kindergarten, food court and student facilities, such facilities shall extend the campus’ role to the public from street vendors to buyers & etc. The open space at ground floor would also function as a fair trade market square (eg. green market, flea market) on weekends and public holidays to extend market space to this side of Jalan Yew.
2nd and 3rd floor remain as political party’s administrative and operative office, supported by it’s think tank, publishing and communication sections.
The 5th floor of the building would be converted into a large joint library featuring huge collection of books, research material and gallery/exhibition space that would be utilised by refsa, campus students, and the public.
The 4th, 6th and the floors above is co-working space and startup facilities for the public, this shall consist of workspace setup in various scale, hotdesk workspace, meeting room facilities, event space, pantry-lounge and capsule accommodation. The rooftop space would then be converted into hostels and edible garden.
CAMPUS-2 | This wing, through the introduction of a university campus, we envision the building to be a dynamic learning place with the introduction of different layers of spaces that could house people from different backgrounds together, creating a lively atmosphere to the site.
The spatial planning is similar to campus 1 in vertical manner, with flexible classroom, lecture theatre, student lounge. Library and rooftop area are common facilities.
All rooms/facilities in the whole buildings is meant to be shared between the party, university and the public. Apart from the above programme, this is also a open learning platform for the public and any researcher ranging from designing drone, learning tabla to anyaman workshop.

PLANTER MESH BOXES | As for the building enclosure, we propose a soft extension - ‘planter mesh boxes’ to lace the facade of the existing building to form a medium for planting. The facade of the building is to be renewed to be carved out with the growth of plants, giving the building a very different look from every angle, to symbolise growth, as though this building is alive, and ever changing.
Different activities could also be carried out in these cuboid frames extended from the existing facade. For example, open classrooms, meeting rooms or pocket spaces for people to gather and just mingle around.
